About the Farm

Livin A Dream Farm is located five miles west of Chebanse, IL and I-57. We are set up on 20 acres of land with roughly seven acres of pasture space, three acres reserved for hay, and two barns. Our main barn is equipped with ten stalls and an 85’x152’ indoor arena. Our small barn is used as tractor and hay storage, along with six additional stalls for overflow horses. Owner/trainer Jes Skudlarek lives on the property, so the horses are cared for under 24/7 supervision. Stalls are done every other day and bedded well. Hay is ALWAYS provided, along with AM grain, and all day turn out weather permitting. We are not a boarding facility, but we do offer training board to students/clients in our riding program.

I am incredibly excited and grateful to announce my newest sponsorship as of September 6th, 2023: Devoucoux Saddlery! A representative from the area stopped by my lovely farm hoping to get feedback on a new prototype custom saddle (the Makila Harmonie), so she asked if I'd ride in it. After a quick saddle fitting demonstration, and a 15 minute ride, I was absolutely speechless at how perfect this saddle is for not only me, but my horse, Lady. I had nothing bad to say about the saddle and quickly asked if there was anything else I could help them with. After some conversation, I was offered a four year contract to represent and promote Devoucoux as an up and coming trainer in the area! I still cannot believe this is real, and I owe so much of it to my students and clients who have helped me build a solid program in such a short amount of time! Grateful doesn't even begin to describe what this opportunity means to me, so thank you! If you or anyone you know is looking to upgrade to a high quality saddle feel free to contact me and I will put you through to my Devoucoux Rep; Devoucoux also offers used saddles, and amazing lease options for growing horses and growing kids!

Market had a beautiful chestnut filly on March 25, 2023! (Pictured below) Her name is Ophelia and she is very curious and friendly. I’m looking forward to watching her grow and working with her from the start!

Ophelia is a coming 2 yo Oldenburg/Thoroughbred homebred filly. She is one of many dreams that have come true at Livin A Dream Farm!

In the fall of 2020, Salty and I made our third level debut in dressage. We rode a beautiful first test, and even without great lead changes, we received a 64.7%. After we earned that score, we only needed one more score at the third level above a 60% to achieve our goal of gaining our Bronze Medal. We worked our butts off for six months with our new dressage trainer, Ken Borden Jr., and on June 26, 2021, Salty and I scored a 62.7% in Springfield, IL for our final score. We are now officially a Bronze Medal pair! I am so proud of this thoroughbred for always giving me 110% in anything I ask him to do. My next goal is to earn my Silver Medal which will require two scores above 60% at the fourth level (accomplished with Salty summer/fall of 2022), and two scores above 60% in Prix St. George (the first of the international levels). Thank you Salty for all you’ve given me; enjoy your well-deserved retirement!!
